WORKSHOPS

WORKSHOP A:    April, 19, 2017  (8:00 am – 12:30 pm)

Part I

– Odour Legislation,

-Standards:  Europe, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand.

During the workshop the subject of odour legislation in some European countries, USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand will be discussed.  We will also discuss step by step odour complaint procedures in the selected countries.

Part II

– Dispersion Modelling Approach to Determine off-site Odour Concentrations

During this session, the main principles of the dispersion modelling will be discussed including types of the models approved for calculation off -site odour concentrations at sensitive receptors    Also initial data entry will be discussed including: meteorological conditions, locations of odour sources and receptors, odour source emission information. Case studies will be also introduced for industrial and agriculture sections.

WORKSHOP B:   April 19, 2017  (1 pm – 5 pm)

Agriculture Odours

This workshop will discuss the issue of agriculture odour mainly odours emitting from chicken, pigs farms or any other sectors dealing with animal by product.  The main characteristics of odour emitting from an animal production will be introduced.  During the session, some legislative aspects will be discussed.  By the end of the workshop we will select some methods for controlling agriculture odours.

  • Ms. Anna Bokowa, quantified during her presentation the tricky issue of odour emission from fugitive sources. The approach taken by this brilliant researcher was novel and very interesting, as she presented an objective way to quantify fugitive emissions from the activity.–3RD International Conference on odour and VOC's, organized by IWA, Barcelona 2008
